Avery is a 10-year-old girl with a rare genetic disorder called Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). PWS is a variable and complex neurobehavioral disorder. Some key features of PWS include poor muscle tone in infancy with difficulty feeding, constant hunger and an inability to feel full when older, poor growth, delayed motor and cognitive development, and sleep disorders.
Those with PWS often require 24/7 care and supervision.
Due to some sleep difficulties, Avery requires a special bed for safe night’s sleep. She previously had a second-hand SleepSafe Bed, but it broke, and insurance denied coverage of a new bed.
The 4:12 Foundation has granted Avery a brand new SleepSafe Bed. This will provide immense relief for Avery’s parents and a safe place for Avery to sleep at night.
