A Safer Shower for Josey
Thanks to your generous donations, our partners at Jamie's Dream Team, and the amazing work of Jim Kurtanich and his construction team, Josey's bathroom renovation project is now complete!
In April 2024, Josey, a sweet 14-year-old girl, suffered a major brain bleed, with no previous symptoms. She was in her school band class when a headache turned into seizures. Josey was rushed to Children's Hospital where she was diagnosed with AVM, a condition where an abnormal tangle of blood vessels causes problems with the connections between arteries and veins.
Her neurologist said it was the worst brain bleed he had seen in his career. Doctors still don’t know the cause of Josey's brain bleed and if it could happen again.
After Josey came home from the hospital, it quickly became apparent that the family's current bathroom shower with a tub was not possible for Josey to enter on her own. She was in desperate need of a walk-in shower.
Enter Jim Kurtanich and team, who completely and beautifully renovated the family's bathroom so it's easy for Josey to use on her own. Check out the awesome finished product below!
